Who Are We?

Welcome to the Amara Aid Web site. We are a Christian charity based in Northern Ireland,UK and our primary objective is to provide medical,educational and agricultural assistance through various projects to poor communities mostly in rural areas in Tanzania and Kenya. We are a group of 10 Directors whose aim is to assist the poor and needy in East Africa. We rely on support from individual donors, groups and fund raising events. We have representatives living in Tanzania and Kenya who personally supervise our projects.

Is it a Registered Organization?

Amara Aid became a Registered Charitable Organization the 29th November 2001 [Inland Revenue Charity Ref No: XR53617]and is therefore eligible to claim Gift Aid from the Inland Revenue by tax payers who give donations.You can help Amara Aid by sending donations which will be used for the various projects undertaken.

What does AMARA mean?

The word “AMARA” means ‘Aid and Assistance’ in the local language and we endeavor to live up to that goal
